Since Myanmar was a British colonial for years, Myanmar has
hundreds of Chevrolet trucks used by the British Army. After the
independent these trucks were modified to passenger buses. Out
of these buses Elephant Coach were transformed as tourist coach.
Not powered by the old, grumpy and loud 6 cylinder Perkins
engine, but a modern silent 6 cylinder Nissan, and secured with
safe and modern airbrake system, a new strong chassis frame, a
new axles and with every nut and bolt reconditioned or copied.
The seating configuration should no longer be cramped to carry
the original 32 passengers, but accommodate only 6 to 8
passengers in comfort. The special arrangement made to restore
the original, but to reproduce the bodywork entirely.
This is the ultimate way to travel in Myanmar with luxurious
replica of the old Chevrolet bus modified by hand-made construction and combined old carriage fashion and modern
comfort interior with sound and heat proof, air-conditioned.
Only the natural materials like ironwood and Shan cotton are
used for the passengers’ armchair and wooden floor. Other
facilities included mini-bar, down-light, 220 V socket with UPS,
tea, coffee and soft drinks are served on board.
